Cost of New Flux

COST REDUCTION: NEW MATERIAL (FLUX)

One way your company will reduce your cost with a slag/flux reprocessing program is by reducing the amount of new flux that you purchase for production. The amount of new flux you are currently purchasing is based on the type of welding/recovery system you are using.

Flux recovery / separation system

Separates the unused flux from the hardened slag after the weld is made. Hardened slag is discarded. New flux must be purchased to replace the material that became hardened slag.

No flux recovery / separation system

All unused flux and hardened slag is discarded. New flux must be purchased to replace the discarded material.

Regardless of the system you are using, the amount of new flux you will purchase when using a reprocessing program will be reduced substantially. The amount of new flux that you purchase will be based on the amount of new flux, if any, that you prefer to mix into your product to replace the minimal loss of product during the crushing process.

Because S.A.W. slag can be reprocessed for multiple cycles, these cost savings are achieved every time you ship product to Harbert’s for reprocessing.
